Privacy policy

Faidh is a charity network of public fridges in Kuwait. This policy describes exactly what the app and the admin platform store, why, and how to remove it. It describes the system as built, not an intention.
What we store about you
If you create an account: your name, your email address, a password we store only as a one way hash and can never read, and optionally a phone number, a profile photo and your preferred language. Browsing the map and reporting a problem with a fridge do not require an account.
Location
If you allow it, your device location is used on the device to show the nearest fridge and to place the pin when you add one. Your location is never sent to us and never stored. Only the location of a fridge is stored, because that is the point of the service.
What you create
Fridges you add, photos you attach, reviews you write, problems you report, ownership requests, check-ins, and support messages including any screenshots. Fridge photos and reviews are public. A problem report can be sent without an account, and when it is, it is stored without a name. A message sent through the contact form on the Help page keeps the name, email or phone number and message you enter, so the Faidh team can reply, and only the Faidh team sees it.
Device and usage information
The operating system, the app version and the update your device is running, so we can reproduce a problem you report. We also record which screens are opened, to understand which parts of the app are used. We do not use advertising identifiers, and there are no advertising or marketing trackers in the app.
Who else sees it
The service runs on Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt. Crash and error reports go to Sentry so faults can be diagnosed. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and no other third party receives it.
Deleting your account
Open the app, go to Account, and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your account and your personal details, and removes your reviews and ownership requests. Fridges already published to the public map remain, because the network depends on them, but they are no longer linked to you. You can create a new account at any time.
Children
The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
